It's our Anniversary!!

Two years ago today we said "I do" in front of our closest friends and family. It had rained that morning in Las Vegas which is good luck on your wedding day. We got up (after spending the night together after all) and headed over to the house we had rented. The girls were tended to by our hair and make up artist while the boys headed back to the other rental house to light cigars and assist with a tux or two. Piled in the limo was the Bride, the Mothers and the wonderful bridesmaids. There was Farrah, the maid of honor: Best friends to the bride for 15 years. Also included was Ilona: the Groom's little sister and bestie to the Bride. Last but not least was Tara: Cajun Connection to the Bride.
Through Las Vegas we rode until we arrived in Henderson, Nevada where the coordinator took over and did an absolutely fabulous job making sure everything ran smoothly. We walked, we wed and we danced the night away. After the MOH and Best Man made their tearful toast, an open mic invitation turned this intimate wedding of 30 into "Cry Fest 2008". We danced, we sang, we ate, drank and were merry. (All the way until 5am when we cleared out of the VIP at VooDoo and had the 20 person Party Bus bring us to our knees!)
Looking back at that day (which is done far more than one would think) I wouldn't change a single last thing. It was the most magical experience of my life and I fell even more in love with that man I call my husband.
Happy Anniversary baby. I love you more than Blue Bell.

Lost and Not Quite Found

Paul came home on Thursday. He is going to be switching to the opposite shift on his barge so fortunately he is home for 4 weeks this time. He'll actually be home for Memorial Day, so we're uber excited.

Saturday we walked for the March of Dimes, March for Babies - Austin. I raised the EXACT AMOUNT OF MY GOAL!!  $500.00!! It was such a pleasure to be able to help ensure that one day all babies are born healthy. We walked the 3.2 miles marching up to the capital of Texas with friends, family and neighbors. Thousands of people (including dogs, strollers, and little nuggets in wagons) joined and it was amazing to see how many people were fired up about the organization...........................

................. But, there was ONE little downfall. I managed to lose my brand new blackberry before the race even started. I was SO upset. The stupid thing was so new that we hadn't even gotten the partial rebate in the mail yet. Ugh, such a pain in the you-know-what to lose a phone. Luckily ( I wouldn't really call it luck), I had my old blackberry that I had just switched from and was able to maintain most of my contacts. Oh well, it could always be worse!

Lastly, I went to take my HSG test today. They are testing to see if there are any "major" problems with the trying to conceive journey. I haven't gotten the results back as of now so let's hope I dont have an anxiety attack before they call me tomorrow.

10 things I have learned while the husband is gone.......

1. I don't know where the hot water heater is.

2. Garbage disposals have "reset buttons" just like a blow dryer!!

3. Dead scorpions are just as scary as living scorpions.

4. I can't keep a gas edger running. Not for the life of me.

5. Kids make a lot more cutting grass now days then when I was younger.

6. A lizard can live on tile underneath a 9" pie pan for 9 days and still be alive.

7. Even though I wear 3x as many clothes as him, I still have MUCH less laundry when he is gone. hhmm...

8. Putting together a 250 lb desk takes 4 days and a few glasses of wine.

9. I don't know how to buy steaks.

10. I miss him every single second that he is gone. Even after all these years.
