Soooo..... We got the house. Barring the inspection going horribly wrong tomorrow. We ended up having some surprises, both good and bad. Mainly good. To begin with- the bank stated that the seller was approved to sell the house, but that he had to sell it for $17,000 LESS than what we had offered. So with that good news, anything bad wasn't TOO bad. We do have to pay for the small things (that do add up though) like turning the utilities on for inspection. (they were currently off due to the property being vacant) so that was a challenge. We also found out that the lovely seller has not paid his HOA dues in over a year, so we have quite a little bill on that one. Still, none of this adds up to the 17 grand!!
Although we REALLY liked the other places we started looking at (The pictures from the previous post) This house was the very first one that stole our heart, and also the one we ended up going back to- So, with them approving the sell, we just think it was meant to be. Here are a few pictures of the new place. (Pre-paint and what not. There is a TON that we will change cosmetically. The house is only 6 years old so mainly paint, fixtures, ceiling fans, and counter tops will be all we need to do)
Inspection is tomorrow and we hope to close by December 1st!! I'll blog it up once we find out the final details!!!
