What a great holiday season it has been already. Paul was home for Thanksgiving, and although we were not able to head out of town to share the day with family, we really enjoyed spending the first Thanksgiving in our home. Paul fried a turkey and I prepared all of the usual holiday components. There was lots of football and we put up our Christmas tree and decorated the mantel.
I had a quick trip to Chicago for work this week. The temperature was 1* when we landed on Thursday. Luckily all of my appointments were walking outside in the Financial District (See"A few thoughts post", thought #7). The high that day was 3*. I was able to meet a friend/colleague for dinner and she took me to a wonderful restaurant in Wrigleyville called umcommon ground. It had wonderful local organic foods and we really enjoyed it. It warmed up to about 18* the next day and later into the 30's so it wasn't too bad. Beautiful city but I don't do cold weather.
Christmas is coming and I am actually 90% done with my shopping. Paul and I will have ours when he returns home on the 30th. Yes, he will be gone for my birthday on the 17th, and for Christmas as well but I am excited that my mom is able to fly in and spend the holiday with me!
We took our Christmas pictures that I will post in an album soon. (Famous last words). Cassidy Huddleston, a good friend of ours took the pictures and did a wonderful job even with the rain that interrupted half way through the shoot.
I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas season and a blessed New Year!
