It's our Anniversary!!

Two years ago today we said "I do" in front of our closest friends and family. It had rained that morning in Las Vegas which is good luck on your wedding day. We got up (after spending the night together after all) and headed over to the house we had rented. The girls were tended to by our hair and make up artist while the boys headed back to the other rental house to light cigars and assist with a tux or two. Piled in the limo was the Bride, the Mothers and the wonderful bridesmaids. There was Farrah, the maid of honor: Best friends to the bride for 15 years. Also included was Ilona: the Groom's little sister and bestie to the Bride. Last but not least was Tara: Cajun Connection to the Bride.
Through Las Vegas we rode until we arrived in Henderson, Nevada where the coordinator took over and did an absolutely fabulous job making sure everything ran smoothly. We walked, we wed and we danced the night away. After the MOH and Best Man made their tearful toast, an open mic invitation turned this intimate wedding of 30 into "Cry Fest 2008". We danced, we sang, we ate, drank and were merry. (All the way until 5am when we cleared out of the VIP at VooDoo and had the 20 person Party Bus bring us to our knees!)
Looking back at that day (which is done far more than one would think) I wouldn't change a single last thing. It was the most magical experience of my life and I fell even more in love with that man I call my husband.
Happy Anniversary baby. I love you more than Blue Bell.

New Mejico

We recently drove from Austin, Texas to Pendaries Village, New Mexico for my best friend's wedding. We enjoyed the road trip there and were so glad to stay with our fresh, new baby cousin! Heath & Veronica were dolls and Mr. Devon is a heart breaker. The 12 hour drive back wasn't as fun. It involved a tornado. Yes, a tornado.

Like a doofus, I didn't get pictures of the adorable baby or the tornado, but I did get good pictures of us golfing. Does that account for anything? 18 holes in the mountains, a plethora of fruit, sandwiches, chips and energy drinks, and a heck of a good time - All in photos.

ok, so it's not "vintage". But it is definitely from before we were engaged. At a festival here in Austin. Good times, good times.

"A friendly little drinking town with a tourist problem"

Fredericksburg, Texas. A friendly little drinking town with a tourist problem. The unofficial slogan of this quaint German town is all too perfect. Paul and I decided to get out of town for Memorial Day this year and with Fredericksburg about an hour and half away, we couldn't resist.

We stayed at the cutest little Bed & Breakfast called The Ainsley House and it was a block from Main Street. We enjoyed a crawfish festival with some boudin and Zydeco. We had authentic German food (the schinken schnitzel to be exact!) and relaxed in the 1930's home by ourselves.

Sunday our friends Jessica and Andy came in and got a hotel to join the fun. We did wine tasting, shopping, ice cream, and a 60 oz. rita with some more German food. We took the long hike (8 miles) to Luckenbach for a festival that we discovered ended before we arrived. The normal population of Luckenbach is 3, and there had to be a whopping 30 people there.

Sunday evening we did a little swimming and some board games back at the B&B. It was such a great time and we were not ready to leave Monday morning. On the way back to Austin we stopped with Jess and Andy at a wildflower farm and walked around in 199* weather! (At least it seemed).

All in all, fantastic weekend. Now Paul is back to New York for a week before we drive to New Mexico for a friends wedding!
